The programme for the 6th SPE Balkan Ski Conference is now available ONLINE!
We look forward to welcoming you to Hotel Ramada Resort, Kranjska Gora, Slovenia in just a few days, where leading research, top-level expertise and real on-snow experience will come together.
This year’s conference will bring together senior representatives from the international snowsports community, including presidents, vice presidents, education directors, and board members from major global organisations. You can find the full list of confirmed honorary guests and speakers on our website. Alpine legends will be in attendance, including Olympic medallists, World Cup champions and internationally recognised ambassadors of alpine skiing, who will share their knowledge, perspective and experience. You can view the confirmed athletes in the Honorary Committee. Experts from leading universities and research institutions across Europe and the United States will present the latest findings and practical insights that are shaping the future of snowsports. The complete academic line-up is published in the programme. A special highlight will be the International On-Snow Demo Show, where national demo teams will perform synchronised skiing presentations, demonstrating technical excellence and national teaching approaches on snow. Taking place on the World Cup slopes of Kranjska Gora, this event will bring together instructors, coaches, researchers and demo teams in a spectacular alpine setting.
A key highlight of this year’s conference will be the parallel panel discussion (EASE), in which participants will actively address best practices, key challenges, and opportunities in snowsport education at school and university level. These discussions will encourage the sharing of best practice and the development of practical, forward-looking solutions.
We must also highlight the innovations and new developments that our sponsors and long-standing partners of the SPE Balkan SKI Conference will present. EASE – Empowering Academic Snowsport Education is a parallel symposium held within the 6th SPE Balkan SKI Conference in March 2026 in Kranjska Gora, Slovenia. It is dedicated to snowsport education at high schools and universities and brings together academic institutions to exchange knowledge, best practices, and future perspectives. We warmly invite all institutions involved in academic snowsport education to join this focused international academic dialogue.

Dear Colleagues and Friends,
It is our great pleasure to invite you to the 6th Scientific Conference SPE Balkan SKI, which this time will take place in Kranjska Gora, one of the ski centers with the longest tradition in the region. The resort, set between 810 and 1,295 meters above sea level, offers slopes of varying difficulty and hotels located directly beside the pistes.
On the renowned FIS course, the Vitranc Cup—a classic stop on the Alpine Skiing World Cup—will be held just before our event, welcoming the very top of the alpine skiing elite. Immediately afterward, in March 2026, Kranjska Gora will also host leading ski instructors from around the world to exchange knowledge, review the latest scientific findings and best practices, and participate in an international gathering of demo team representatives. For many, this will serve as the final training and Demo Show ahead of the Interski meeting in Vail.
Our motto is to make every congress better—continually updating and advancing in all aspects in line with the vision, mission, and goals of SPE Balkan SKI. By building a network of excellence that brings together ski instructors, coaches, scientists, and other experts from around the world, we aim to share with you the unique charm of Balkan ski resorts.
