Dear Colleagues and Friends,
It is our great pleasure to invite you to the sixth international SPE BALKAN SKI Conference, which will take place March 8–12, 2026, in Kranjska Gora, Slovenia.
After our successful editions in Kopaonik, Serbia (2017) and Jahorina/Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina (2018)—and the COVID-19 interruption that unfortunately forced us to cancel the planned Rogla 2020 conference—we delivered a highly successful gathering in Pamporovo, Bulgaria (2022) and another excellent edition at Rogla Ski Center (2024). In 2026 we move to the other end of Slovenia—into the heart of magnificent mountains bordered by the Karavanke to the north and the Julian Alps to the south—arriving at one of Europe’s oldest ski destinations with a rich World Cup tradition. Kranjska Gora is home to the storied Vitranc Cup, hosting in March 2026 the 65th men’s event, and, in January, the 62nd women’s event.
We have many reasons—and plenty of energy—to make the 2026 conference something truly special. Save the dates, and we will be in touch soon with more information.
The SPE BALKAN SKI Conference is substantially and professionally supported by the IAESS – International Association of Education and Science in Snowsport.
What is SPE BALKAN SKI?
SPE – Science, Practice & Education – BALKAN SKI CONFERENCE is a merge of curiosity (science), will of terrain work (practice) and unselfish transfer of knowledge (education) for people who likes snowy mountains and the most beautiful sport in the world – alpine skiing and snowboarding.
After the great experience we all had at the previous SPE BALKAN SKI CONFERENCES, where several hundred ski instructors, coaches, professors and other experts in the field of alpine skiing and snowboarding witnessed an unforgettable story of exchange between science, profession, practice and social events, we have decided to offer you a step forward to reach and exceed the SPE Balkan SKI Goals.
